Seer Fish Recipe

Surmai Fish is a King Fish of Indian Ocean, Surmai Fish is very good for health because, in this Fish high minerals, high proteins, high vitamins and it is very tasty, this fish has very fewer bones flesh. Everyone try to cook this curry or recipe.

Ingredients of Surmai Fish Recipe:

  1. Take the Seer Fish/ King Fish/ Surmai Fish of 500 grams.
  2. Take One or Two tsp of Mustard seeds.
  3. Take the 15 Curry leaves
  4. Take-Two Green chillies with chopped into big pieces
  5. Two tsp Ginger garlic paste.

For the paste:

>> 2 Medium Onion
>> Coconut pieces- 4 tbsp
>> Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
>> Red Chilli powder- 2 tsp
>> Cumin seeds- 1 tsp


Need of marination:

  • Salt- 1 tsp(Need of your taste).
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Oil- 4 tbsp
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp

Preparation Recipe of Surmai Fish:

  • Marinate the Surmai/ King Fish/ Tuna Fish/ Seer fish pieces with salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. And set aside it for 30 mins.
  • Make it sure smooth paste of the items indicated by adding some water in this curry.


Process for Surmai Fish Cooking:

  1. Take the kadhai pan and heat with the oil.
  2. Add mustard and mix well.
  3. Now add curry powder, green chillies and stir.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes till it smells green.
  5. Add the previously prepared paste and mix well. Fry for 2 minutes and add salt. Weed well.
  6. Fry on a medium flame for 5 minutes until the oil separates.
  7. Now add 2 cups of water and mix well. Udakanivvandi.
  8. Place the marinated fish pieces aside and cover the fish pieces with gravy.
  9. Boil the fish, cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes until the oil separates.
  10. Serve hot with rice.
